Dr. Atalay attended Columbia University in New York City where he graduated in 1979. He received his medical degree at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA in 1983. He completed his Medical Residency at the Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY. He then completed his Fellowship in Cardiology at the Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY in 1988.
Dr. Atalay is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a Member of the American College of Physicians. He is on staff at St. Peter's Hospital, the Albany Medical Center, and Albany Memorial Hospital in Albany, NY as well as St. Mary's Hospital and Samaritan Hospital in Troy, NY. He currently is as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Albany Medical College and is Director of the Chest Pain Center at the Albany Medical Center.
Dr. Atalay's cardiology specialities include general cardiovascular disease with a special interest in congestive heart failure, ischemic heart disease, lipid disorders, and cardiac catheterizations.
