Dr
Riivo Ilves attended college at the University of Toronto where he
received his MD degree. He then did his internship at Toronto
General Hospital. He then went to Toronto General Hospital to
complete his training in Thoracic Surgery. He then went to
Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle Washington to do some research
in cancer and antireflux surgery.
Dr Ilves successfully passed certification exams from the Royal College
of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, certifications in Surgery and
General Thoracic Surgery. He is a Fellow in American College of
Chest Physicians, American College of Surgeons as well as The
royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He holds
staff appointments at Albany Medical Center where he is Director of The
Cardiothroacic Residency Program.
Dr Ilves's interests include General Thoracic Surgery.
Dr Ilves lives in Voorhesville and enjoys many outdoor activities
including golf, tennis and paddle ball.
