Dr. Papandrea attended Columbia University in New York City, where he graduated in 1977. He received his medical degree at SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY in 1981. He completed his Medical Residency at the Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY. He then completed his Fellowship in Cardiology at the Albany Medical Center in 1986.
Dr. Papandrea is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and Member of the American College of Physicians. He is on staff at St. Peter's Hospital, the Albany Medical Center, and Albany Memorial Hospital in Albany, NY. Dr. Papandrea is currently on the CHF Quality Assuarance Committee at St. Peter's Hospital and is a Senior Interventional Cardiologist for Capital Cardiology Associates, PC.
Dr. Papandrea's cardiology specialities include general cardiovascular disease with a special interest in invasive and interventional procedures, including cardiac catheterization, coronary angioplasty, coronary stenting, intravascular ultrasound, directional atherectomy, rotational atherectomy, and angiojet.
Dr. Papandrea is married to Brenda Papandrea and has two twin girls, Annemarie and Lisa. He resides in Delmar, NY. When he is not practicing cardiology, Dr. Papandrea enjoys golf, music, and playing the guitar.
