Maryellen King began her nursing career as a Registered Nurse in 1986 after graduating from Albany Medical Center School of Nursing. While working as an RN in area hospitals, she continued her education and obtained a BS in Nursing (1988) and a MS in Nursing (1997), both from Russell Sage College.
As an advanced practice nurse, Maryellen has worked as an educator and clinical specialist in critical care. Her practice included heart failure management as a care facilitator/specialist, working with heart failure patients in the hospital as well as in outpatient settings, including home care and skilled nursing facilities. Maryellen returned to bedside critical care nursing while pursing her certification as a nurse practitioner. She graduated from University of Massachusetts, Boston in 2009 with a Post-Master’s Certificate as an Adult and Geriatric Nurse Practitioner.
Maryellen joined Capital Cardiology in 2009 and is currently the Manager of Remote Monitoring and NP/PA Services. She continues to see patients in the Albany, Troy and Oneonta offices. She specializes in cardiac device management and electrophysiology. She is a Certified Cardiac Device Specialist and is an Associate of the American College of Cardiology.
Maryellen lives in the Averill Park area with her husband. They have two children.
