WHEN IT'S YOUR HEART, YOU JUST CAN'T WAIT

Available at CCA locations in Albany and Clifton Park, Enhanced Cardiac Access (ECA) provides same-day evaluations of patients with potential cardiac symptoms such as chest pain, shortness of breath, or palpitations.

Capital Cardiology Associates (CCA) launched its Enhanced Cardiac Access program In 2014. Our dedicated facility offers same-day evaluations for patients experiencing non-life-threatening symptoms such as chest pain, palpitations, shortness of breath, or rapid heart rate. We understand the importance of prompt and accurate diagnosis when it comes to cardiac health, and our ECA Suite is designed to deliver efficient and comprehensive evaluations.

At the ECA Suite, we utilize state-of-the-art technology and a multidisciplinary approach to provide a wide range of diagnostic services. Our team of experienced cardiologists, technicians, and medical professionals work together to ensure you receive the highest level of care.

Our suite is equipped with cutting-edge equipment and facilities, allowing us to conduct a variety of diagnostic tests on-site. These tests include exercise stress tests, heart CT scans, nuclear stress tests, echocardiograms, continuous cardiac telemetry monitoring, and blood work in our dedicated blood testing lab.

Exercise stress tests help us evaluate your heart's response to physical activity, providing valuable insights into your cardiac health. Heart CT scans allow us to obtain detailed images of your heart and blood vessels, aiding in the detection of potential issues. Nuclear stress tests help assess blood flow to your heart during exercise, assisting in the diagnosis of coronary artery disease. Echocardiograms provide real-time images of your heart's structure and function, assisting in the evaluation of heart conditions. Continuous cardiac telemetry monitoring allows us to monitor your heart's electrical activity over an extended period, capturing any irregularities. Additionally, our on-site blood testing lab enables us to promptly analyze your blood samples, ensuring efficient diagnosis and treatment.

By offering same-day evaluations, we prioritize your convenience and peace of mind. We understand that waiting for answers can be stressful, and our streamlined process aims to minimize your waiting time and provide you with prompt results.

Our highly skilled and compassionate team is committed to delivering personalized care and tailored treatment plans based on your unique needs. We believe in open communication and patient education, ensuring you fully understand your condition and the recommended next steps.

Your heart health is our priority, and the Enhanced Cardiac Access Suite is here to provide you with the exceptional care you deserve. Schedule an appointment with us today and take the first step towards a healthier heart.

Board-certified cardiologists are available to evaluate patients. They will work closely with the referring physician to develop a plan for the evaluation and treatment that is best suited for each individual patient.

  • If hospitalization is necessary, we will arrange for your admission, and in extreme cases, call for an ambulance. By using our ECA services, you can avoid an unnecessary trip to the Emergency Room and be admitted directly to a hospital bed, or to a cardiac catheterization lab as determined by the cardiologist who evaluates you.

  • We can perform a number of diagnostic tests to evaluate your heart function:

    • Exercise Stress Test
    • Nuclear Stress Test
    • Echocardiography
    • CTA of the Coronary Arteries
    • CTA of the Chest
    • EKG
    • Blood Testing

We have state-of-the-art electronic health records (EHR) that allows us to access your records any time and anywhere. EHR records your medications and will send your records to your primary care physician, or any referring physician, and can also give you access to your records through our Patient Portal.

  • We accept all insurance plans and will work directly with your insurance carrier. Your out-of-pocket copay will be the same as if you were having a routine office visit. Any diagnostic testing we perform will follow the guidelines of your insurance plan, making sure we have prior authorization to perform the tests.

  • You can call the number below and speak with an R.N. who will have access to all your records. The R.N. is a cardiovascular specialist who works closely with the cardiologist and will be able to answer all your questions during normal business hours. During non-business hours a cardiologist is always available for consultation.

Frequently Asked Questions about the ECA.

What to expect.

Once you arrive at the ECA, you will be taken to an exam room for evaluation by an RN. You will be evaluated by both a Cardiac Advanced Practitioner and a Board Certified Cardiologist to determine what further testing, if any, is necessary.

Since the cardiologist controls the scheduling of diagnostic testing, we are able to minimize your wait time and achieve a rapid diagnosis and plan of care.

The amount of time you spend at ECA will depend on the testing the cardiologist orders. Some tests may take longer than others, and in some cases, more than one test may be required.
